What you’ll do


The Senior Strategic Manager - Loyalty Propositions is responsible for leading the strategy, design, and execution of compelling and innovative loyalty propositions that enable member acquisition, engagement and retention; and balances member and business value. This role is critical to shaping the future of Member loyalty within the Woolworths Group.


In addition to the above, you will


  • Build business cases for new loyalty propositions, ensuring profitability and alignment with business objectives. This includes developing detailed financial projections and strategic justifications to secure investment ( inc. demonstrating return on investment). You'll be key in shaping the financial viability of our loyalty initiatives

  • Lead customer research and analysis to deeply understand member needs and motivations. By leveraging data-driven insights, you'll identify opportunities to improve and develop innovative offerings that enhance the member experience and drive engagement. Your work will directly drive the evolution of our loyalty programs.

  • Develop and implement the strategic roadmap for loyalty propositions. This involves aligning with overall business goals and member segmentation strategies to create a clear path for future loyalty program enhancements. You'll be instrumental in shaping the long-term vision for our loyalty efforts.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various teams to execute the loyalty proposition roadmap. You'll work closely with marketing, technology, commercial, operations, finance and data science to ensure seamless implementation and effective delivery of loyalty initiatives. This role requires strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Lead and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and member-centricity within the team. You'll champion a data-driven and test-and-learn approach to loyalty program development, while also providing coaching and development opportunities to support your team's professional growth. Empowering your team to achieve their goals in a supportive environment will be a key focus.




What you’ll bring


The right candidate for this role possesses a strong blend of strategic and practical skills, demonstrating excellent critical thinking and a structured yet lateral approach to problem-solving. They have a deep understanding of loyalty principles, proposition desiign, and customer segmentation and use data-driven insights to achieve business results.


Expanding on the above, you will bring:


  • Expertise in proposition design and an understanding of loyalty principles & frameworks; hands-on experience spanning proposition design to practical implementation

  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to approach challenges from multiple angles 

  • Data-driven and analytical coupled with strong commercial and financial acumen; linking insights to drive business results

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; effective in influencing, leading, and inspiring diverse colleagues

  • Confidence to work autonomously; owning and delivering key projects end-to-end (with stakeholder support)

  • Sound knowledge of the Australian retail and loyalty market, inc. emerging technologies like Gen AI in eCommerce

  • Adaptable and optimistic mindset, thriving in dynamic environments
