The Opportunity

W Living portfolio brings together four everyday living businesses (Big W, Petstock, WMP & Healthylife) to spark better ways of living for our connected customers through good prices, relevant range, easy experiences & trust.

This role will be focussed on reporting, strategic & transformation initiatives across the recent joiners to the Group (Petstock & WMP). You will be a key business partner supporting key transformation initiatives that will drive significant value across theses businesses and the wider Group.

This is not your average commercial finance role. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to play a hands-on role in shaping the reporting, insights and business partnership model supporting these transforming and scaling businesses.

In addition to monthly reporting, this role will be responsible for evaluating the financial benefits of strategic initiatives & investments, ensuring seller & customer priorities also meet our commercial and financial objectives.

This is a fast paced, successful and driven team. The successful applicant must have the passion and commitment to improving processes, building things from the ground up and driving efficiencies that form part of the overall customer first approach.

 

What you’ll do

  • Partner with a range of stakeholders on critical transformation initiatives 
  • Prepare packs & commentary to support key stakeholder decision making
  • Lead strategic and project analysis to drive business growth & improved returns
  • Manage the weekly forecasting, monthly group reporting & capital reporting 
  • Support group annual budgeting process
  • Define solutions to automate processes and reporting whilst delivering greater insights across the business 
  • Contribute to a culture of mental agility, innovation and operational effectiveness within the team.

 

What you’ll bring

  • An agile mindset & creative thinkers who relish the challenge of doing things from scratch/for the first time
  • Intermediate SQL experience (GCP preferable)
  • Advanced Excel experience and financial modeling skills
  • Experience with SAP, SAP BW, TM1, and Google programs (desirable)
  • Logical and analytical thinker who enjoys problem solving
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to manage business relationships with stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manipulate large sets of data and conduct analyses which are simple, structured, accurate and robust, in order to provide useful insights that drive tangible business outcomes
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines through sound judgment 
  • Able to work autonomously in an ambiguous environment 
  • Strong commercial experience in the retail/FMCG  &/or large complex organisations
