What you’ll do
The GM of DC Design and Automation encompasses the entire lifecycle accountability for automation, from strategy development, concept development, automation project delivery, contractual management, service and maintenance, continuous improvement and ownership of automation partner relationships. You will also:
Be accountable for automation partnerships to provide long term improvements in performance and cost base and ongoing delivery and support for best in class systems
Create, negotiate and manage automation Service and Maintenance agreements and delivery of annual operating cost benefits through optimisation at automated sites across the Group
Have oversight of automation project management from concept and proposal development, contract negotiation, execution and handover to operational teams in line with overarching project business case
Accountability for DC and facility design across a significant investment portfolio ensuring highest possible quality design outcomes aligned with strategic business initiatives and operational requirements
Identify and develop core capabilities across the team to ensure that Woolworths maintains a leadership position in the development and delivery of world class facilities
What you’ll bring
The ideal candidate will be an Industry recognised leader with over 15 years experience in the leadership of DC Design solutions spanning conceptual development, detailed design, project approval, delivery and commissioning. Extensive experience operating within highly complex business and project environments in the delivery of transformational design outcomes.
Proven leadership of a large team consisting of highly competent and engaged team members with the ability to adapt individual development outcomes to support team members
Exceptional communication skills at all levels of the organisation able to build strong relationships with executive leaders
Proven capability to partner with diverse internal business units and external companies to meet strategic outcomes including excellent negotiation and influencing skills
Comprehensive operational understanding in end to end supply chain processes and able to drive lowest total operating cost by balancing investment, process and design
Extensive understanding of the distribution automation landscape and experience in working with industry leaders globally
