What you’ll do
The ‘Senior Manager Product Design General Merchandise’ brings our offer to life by leading a team
of designers to develop inspirational, great value products that our customers & team love. They are
customer centric and strive to deliver coordinated ranges, at the best prices that differentiate BIG W.
- Interpret business strategy, influence and partner with commercial stakeholders to develop and implement range strategy.
- Responsible for leading plans to drive growth of our hardgoods own brands.
- Partner with the Trend & Forecasting team to translate seasonal trend & core range direction for all hardgoods own brand ranges utilising your category expertise.
- Lead a team of designers to partner across the end to end team to build customer led ranges to brief, within process guidelines and on time across multiple categories & brands. Manage & escalate obstacles accordingly.
- Continuously optimise product development processes and ways of working to better align to best practice and support our transformation
- Drive progress to meet our group sustainability commitments continuously improving our use of sustainable raw materials and packaging.
What you’ll bring
- Formal qualification in Design.
- Previous experience leading a design team in a large retail business or brand.
- Previous accountability managing and designing for a high volume and high complexity of options.
- Transferable skills across areas of design, with ability to adapt across product types.
- Previous experience leading and mentoring Designers of all career levels to self manage with a collaborative mindset.
