What you'll do
As a Data Scientist, you'll apply advanced analytics, machine learning and GenAI techniques to solve complex business problems for search engine marketing, including shopping ads optimisation, experimentation and measurement.
Architect and deploy scalable ML solutions for shopping ads, from data extraction and feature engineering to model monitoring in production. Partner with marketing, media, and analytics teams to translate insights into actionable strategies that improve return on investment and customer acquisition efficiency.
Applying techniques such as linear/non-linear optimisation, GLMs, and XGBoost to enhance bidding strategies, budget allocation, and keyword targeting.
Leveraging Generative AI and NLP to automate and optimise ad creative generation, query expansion, and semantic matching for improved relevance.
Designing and analysing complex A/B tests and using causal inference frameworks to measure incremental lift and attribution accuracy.
Writing robust, production-ready code (Python/SQL) and upholding best practices in version control (Git), CI/CD, and code reviews.
Partnering with Product and Engineering to translate business goals (e.g., ROAS, GMV) into technical specifications and embedding models into live ad systems.
Develop and maintain digital media attribution models to measure cross-channel performance and identify key drivers of business outcomes.
Design and implement incrementality testing frameworks and hold out tests to quantify the impact of paid search, display, social, and other digital marketing channels on sales.
Build predictive models to automate campaign optimisation, budget allocation, and targeting decisions across paid media.
Build and deploy automated data pipelines and dashboards for ongoing performance tracking and decision support.
Continuously evaluate model performance and adapt methodologies to evolving marketing platforms and business objectives.
What you'll bring
We're seeking a technically skilled and business-savvy individual who can bridge the gap between data science and commercial outcomes. The ideal candidate will have:
4+ years of hands-on experience in a data science role, with a demonstrated portfolio of deploying machine learning solutions into production environments (not just notebooks).
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with a focus on writing clean, maintainable code. Experience with version control (Git), code reviews, and testing frameworks is essential.
A solid foundation in statistical and ML techniques (e.g., Regression, XGBoost, Clustering) with the ability to select the right tool for the job—balancing accuracy with implementation cost.
Experience working with cloud platforms (preferably GCP products like BigQuery, Vertex AI, GCS), with a mindset for computational performance and cost efficiency.
Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks, causal inference, or measuring model impact in a live business setting.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex model logic into clear business recommendations for non-technical audiences.
Systematic troubleshooting abilities and the autonomy to navigate complex data issues within cloud infrastructures.
Bonus points for:
Experience with Generative AI (LLMs, prompt engineering) or Mathematical Optimisation.
Background in Digital Marketing, AdTech, or E-commerce.
Proven experience in digital media measurement, including attribution and incrementality modelling.
Strong background in data science and advanced analytics using Python, R, or similar tools.
Hands-on experience with predictive modelling, feature engineering, and model deployment in production environments.
Familiarity with advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta, DV360) and digital tracking tools.
Solid understanding of marketing mix, customer journey analytics, and experimentation design.
Expertise in SQL and data manipulation within cloud-based environments (e.g., BigQuery, Databricks, AWS).
Clear communication skills to explain complex analyses to marketing and business stakeholders.
