The Opportunity

The Business Analyst serves as a key business partner within the WAW business, providing analytical insights that support effective decision-making and drive performance improvements. This role is central to managing financial cycles, including annual budgeting and monthly forecasting, and involves close collaboration across the organization to ensure alignment and support the evaluation and execution of growth initiatives

 

 

What you’ll do 

  • Month-end Reporting & Analysis: Manage month-end close, reporting, and analysis (including ad-hoc quarterly, half-year, and annual reports). Collaborate with Food eCom Finance for accurate P&L reporting.
  • Performance Management Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly BPM deliverables with analysis and financial highlights.
  • Trade & Capital Reporting: Lead weekly trade reporting with insights on sales drivers and risks/opportunities. Manage monthly capital reporting, tracking expenditure against budget.
  • Business Case Development: Develop business cases for strategic initiatives, including future cash flow projections.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Support annual budget and forecast preparation, ensuring understanding and ownership. Provide analysis of opportunities and risks, and support driver-based budgeting. Manage costs against budget/targets.
  • Business Partnering & Support: Partner with Enterprise+ & BusinessOne stream leads to achieve commercial objectives (revenue growth, margin improvement). Support margin expansion initiatives.
  • Balance Sheet & Capex Management: Own balance sheet reconciliations and FSS sign-off. Manage capital expenditure, including capex requests, AUC reports, asset transfers, and depreciation tracking.

 

 

What you’ll bring 

  • CA/CPA qualified with at least 3 years experience in relevant finance role
  • Prior experience of multi-functional team and / or experience in the retail or FMCG sectors desirable 
  • Strong modelling and analytical skills with advanced Excel / Google sheets skills
  • Strong data skills with Big Query / SQL skills highly preferred
  • Strong presentation and storyboarding skills - Desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and good commercial sense
  • Advanced time management skills and able to work unsupervised
