Join the team behind Woolworths MarketPlus (WMP), we are looking for passionate individuals to work on WMP, the innovative platform launched in October 2023. WMP is transforming our online offering by empowering third-party sellers to seamlessly list and manage products across our key marketplace businesses, including Big W, Woolworths Online  (Everyday Market), and Everyday Rewards Shop.

Our goal is to expand our product range, providing customers with an unparalleled "one-stop shop" experience for an extensive selection of exclusive online products.


What you’ll do

As the Senior Business Analyst, you are responsible for understanding business challenges and opportunities within our marketplace, translating them into clear and actionable product requirements, and guiding these requirements through the entire development lifecycle to ensure solutions are delivered that meet strategic objectives and user needs. You'll drive clarity and alignment, ensuring that our product development efforts directly contribute to the growth and efficiency of our platform. You will also: 

  • Translate high-level business goals into clear, detailed functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

  • Analyse current processes, identify pain points, and propose innovative platform solutions.

  • Collaborate with Product Managers to define feature scope and ensure alignment with product strategy.

  • Act as the primary liaison between business units, product, engineering, and QA teams. Clearly communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders and business needs to technical teams.

  • Contribute to the strategic vision and roadmap of the WMP platform by identifying opportunities and informing decisions.

  • Proactively contribute to the establishment of best practice in the BA team, lead by example and find opportunities to improve the team's ways of working.


What you’ll bring

You are passionate about using technology to solve complex business and operational problems with the ability to translate broader business goals and strategy to our technology team so that the right technology can be built. You will also bring: 

  • At least 5+ years’ relevant experience as a Business Analyst (or similar capacity) with a proven track record of successful project delivery. Previous Retail or eCommerce experience and experience working in start-up businesses will be highly regarded.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation and team working skills including a high level of negotiating and influencing ability (at all levels of the business).

  • Outstanding attention to detail, whilst being able to manage their time effectively across multiple projects if needed.

  • Experience using Agile methodologies

  • Strong business acumen and problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver technical and business documentation.
