As a Senior Business Analyst, you will support the Store Operations leadership on a cost portfolio of c.$1b. You will guide the management of store wage costs, partnering with store operations leadership, productivity teams, and the wider finance team by reporting and forecasting total employee costs, providing analysis and insight, assessing productivity improvements and supporting stakeholders’ financial
understanding.
The key responsibilities include:
- Shape Financial Strategy: Be the finance business partner responsible for forecasting, P&L, and yearly reviews of critical employee costs, directly influencing business outcomes.
- Drive Profitability Initiatives: Lead exciting projects with business improvement teams to uncover and implement opportunities that boost store profitability.
- Empower Business Leaders: Partner closely with National Operations and store leadership, providing vital financial education and coaching to optimize wage planning for exceptional customer service.
- Innovate with Data: Utilize advanced systems to extract powerful insights and deliver clear, impactful analysis on performance trends.
- Mentor and Develop Talent: Take on a leadership role by supervising, coaching, and developing a Business Analyst, fostering growth within the team.
- Contribute to the Future of Finance: Play a key part in achieving our strategic objective to establish "Finance of the Future" at Woolworths New Zealand.

You will possess strong communication skills, enabling you to present complex financial information clearly and concisely. Additionally, you will have proven experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting within a large commercial environment.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Finance-related degree or experience, CA/CPA preferred.
- Strong commercial acumen and business understanding.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Confident communicator, skilled at engaging senior executives with clear, influential financial storytelling.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, able to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in problem-solving, design, and analytical tasks with attention to detail.
- Growth mindset with a passion for learning.
