The Opportunity

The Senior Functional Consultant works with various key stakeholders to deliver PA (IBM Planning Analytics) functionality. This role will require the candidate to design, build and maintain PA solutions to support critical business processes.


What you’ll do

  • Understand and support business processes to meet business requirements.
  • Design and implement integrated solutions that span multiple departments, from operations to finance.
  • Estimate work effort and participate in solution design forums and discussions.
  • Communicate complex solutions to business stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Review and validate functional designs to ensure they meet customer needs.
  • Develop, test, and maintain planning and analytics (PA) solutions, ensuring quality and adherence to Agile methodologies.


What you’ll bring

  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in IBM Planning Analytics/TM1 development and a strong understanding of Agile and DevOps practices, preferably gained in large Australian organisations
  • Extensive IT experience in large retail environments, including strategic solution design, technical debt reduction, and success working with offshore TM1/PA development teams.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing development teams, leading Scrum processes, and driving positive change by challenging the status quo.
  • Technical Proficiency: Highly proficient in TM1py and Python programming, with a strong understanding of API technologies and Cubewise tools (Arc, Pulse, and Atmosphere).
  • Solution Design & Communication: Proven ability to design and implement cross-functional solutions and translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration & Estimation: Skilled in estimating work and collaborating effectively with subject matter experts (SMEs) and solution architects across different workstreams.
