What you’ll do | Hei mahi
We’ve had one of our amazing team find their dream H&S job in the market, so as we farewell them from our whanau we wanted to share this is a rare opportunity to join the amazing Woolworths New Zealand Safety Team.
The SHW Business Partner is a significant and key role within our operations support team, so we are looking for someone special that can lead, coach, mentor, challenge and help their stakeholders on the safety maturity journey. Based in our Auckland support office your stores and stakeholders will cover the North and West of Auckland up to Northland, and the role has significant ability to contribute and lead National initiatives.
Our team is at the heart of our business, and keeping them safe and well is our number one priority. We’re a caring bunch, and we pride ourselves on a robust SH&W strategy that prioritises injury prevention as well as supporting and caring for our team and communities at the centre of everything we do.
We acknowledge that safety, health and wellbeing is for us all, and it includes all the people in our lives we go home to at the end of every day. Part of your role will be influencing the business to ensure that this is driven by a positive safety, health and wellbeing culture, as well as ensuring that we’re continually improving. Partnering with our Store Operations leadership team, you will provide advice and guidance on existing policies, processes and frameworks to deliver solutions that keep our team and customers safe.
Some of the key deliverables in this role include:
- Supporting the operational function by delivering and implementing safety, health and wellbeing policies and procedures
- Supporting and facilitating the delivery of targeted health, safety and wellbeing training across store operations
- Engaging and influencing senior internal and external stakeholders to create a culture of shared learning
- Attending Store Manager, Group Manager and Zone Meetings presenting key safety, health and wellbeing information to the operational audience
- Leading serious incident investigations and recommending corrective actions
- Promoting and influencing behavioural and cultural change within store teams by building capability and competency to proactively manage risk in the workplace (regular store visits)
Note that an element of travel to meet the requirements of the business may be required.
What you’ll bring | Hei koha
To succeed in this role you will need to be a Health, Safety and Risk professional with ideally 5 years experience within a large scale / multi site / complex environment. You’ll be a strong communicator, able to engage and influence key stakeholders, build trust and confidence and bring people along our SH&W journey. You’ll be able to encourage caring and authentic conversations, but also challenge the status quo where necessary to help us lift our game.
If you’re the sort of individual who strives to always do the right thing for customers, team, our communities, and the business you are in then we’d love to hear from you!
