Senior Business Analyst - SANTWA

The Opportunity

 

Reporting to the State Senior Finance Manager, the primary responsibility of this role is to provide commercial leadership across our regional supermarket operations. Through strong partnerships with the State Operations Team, you will provide high quality financial insights with appropriate controls and rigour to support the continuous improvement of a multi-billion dollar business. The role is intended to spend 80% of its time on State specific analysis and support, and 20% of its time extending analysis and support (where relevant) Nationally.

 

What you'll do

 

  • Partner with the State Operations Team with the provision of financial support and insight on P&L results, through benchmarking and identifying best practice
  • Partner with the regional stock loss, productivity, state admin, and property teams to provide insight on performance, identify opportunities and synthesise various data sets to assist with building a sound end to end budget for the state
  • Partner with the State Senior Finance Manager to articulate regional strategies and assist in the preparation of any necessary operations related management and SLT presentations
  • Maintain financial integrity of all reports to key customers in the state and maintain financial oversight of overhead management and store expenses as needed, embedding best practices in all processes
  • Perform weekly items planning analysis and identify and action required adjustments to store items forecasts generated by the Kronos system to facilitate optimal wage planning outcomes
  • Review monthly P&L results with state business partners and build commercial acumen through the provision of insights and knowledge of accounting and financial principles
  • Drive the successful delivery of a customer-aligned state budget, on time, in full and support the business in the delivery of financial targets
  • Drive and execute opportunities for continuous improvement in reporting and analysis, including reporting automation for Sales and GP, budgeting and forecasting processes, including becoming a financial systems SME (GCP, IPA)

 

What you'll bring

 

  • CPA / CA qualified (or working towards) with over 5 years of professional experience
  • SQL / GCP query experience desirable
  • Advanced Google Sheets (or Excel) and financial modelling skills
  • Proven ability to manipulate data and conduct analyses that are simple, structured, accurate, and robust, to provide actionable insights
  • Strong communication ability and influencing skills
  • Influencing - Has the ability to gain agreement with stakeholders on decisions through balanced negotiation or positioning. Seeks to deliver win-win outcomes through negotiation techniques.
  • High level of communication skills and formal presentation delivery skills, both written and verbal with senior stakeholders
