What you'll do | Hei mahi
With a strong focus on supporting WWNZ transformation, the Strategic Insights Senior Manager leads a diverse analytics team to deliver rapid, valuable and actionable insights solutions across priority strategic and commercial projects for the WWNZ business. The purpose of this role is to own the relationship with the business to identify opportunities, driving strategic and commercial thinking across revenue-driving and cost-optimisation insights projects. Additionally, this role will manage a squad of analysts to deliver value through analytics, insights and decision-making tools.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as a trusted insights partner / thought leader, understanding both the business strategy and the commercial drivers, challenge and innovate with data to identify critical problems or opportunities and act as a translator of where value can be unlocked through insights to drive measurable outcomes.
- Collaborate with Strategy and BU senior leadership to understand the problem / opportunity spaces linked to key Transformation pillars. Uses outstanding influencing and business partnering skills to effectively diagnose the core value drivers and challenge the status quo.
- Proactively work with BU senior leaders to manage expectations of new and future initiatives, including prioritisation of competing priorities to maximise value, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
- Hands-on leadership of high-profile strategic cross-domain revenue or cost optimisation analytics projects, ensuring workstreams are unified and working together towards driving to business outcomes in line with evolving transformation priorities
- Structure nebulous problem statements and develop hypotheses / issue trees to determine the solution(s).
- Ensuring best practice solution discovery, problem definition, solution design, and build principles and approaches are adopted, including that they are appropriately resourced with the right capabilities and delivery is aligned to stakeholder expectations.
- Transforming data into actionable insights, creating end-to-end strategic narratives that convey clear, compelling and articulate storylining and strategy presentations to influence business decisions. Effectively communicate complex analytical findings to non-technical audiences.
What you’ll bring | Hei koha
- Strategic / Commercial experience: Consulting firm experience ideally Manager/Senior Manager from Practice / Functional areas such as: Retail and Consumer Goods, Analytics, Strategy & Transformation, including strategy formulation through to delivery
- Retail Acumen: Strong understanding of the retail industry, with specific experience in pricing and promotions. FMCG experience is highly desirable.
- Data Analysis & Problem Solving: Proven ability to identify key business challenges, analyze data, and develop effective solutions that drive business value.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Technical Proficiency (preferred): 5+ years of experience delivering decision-making tools using SQL, BigQuery, Tableau, and Looker. Experience with GitHub and other advanced analytics tools is a plus
