What you’ll do | Hei mahi

Senior Business Analyst is a critical role within the Commercial Finance team in New Zealand, containing key deliverables, Reporting, Forecasting, Working Capital and Inventory partnering.  This role will lead the weekly/monthly Commercial Finance reporting agenda, ensuring the Merchandise team has access to key information within a timely and accurate manner. 


This role coordinates weekly/monthly Gross Profit forecasts, collaborating with Commercial Finance Managers on department assumptions. It also manages and analyzes NZ inventory, embedding budgeting/forecasting processes with NZ Replenishment teams, and optimizing inventory management for working capital.


The Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.
  • Coordinate the Merchandise forecasting process.
  • Lead month-end result pack preparation and commentary consolidation.
  • Manage category inventory budgets and performance tracking.
  • Optimize net working capital through insights and analysis.
  • Develop and enhance standardized reporting for Merchandise and Commercial Finance teams.

Strong financial qualifications (CA/CPA with 3+ years PQE) and advanced system skills (SAP, Business Objects, GCP, SQL, Tableau, Excel/modelling). 


To be successful in this role, you’ll have robust communication, stakeholder management, commercial acumen, and a growth mindset within a fast-paced environment.


Also, you will have:

  • Financially Savvy: Bring 3+ years of post-qualified CA/CPA experience to a dynamic finance team.
  • Retail/FMCG/eCom Edge: Leverage your industry experience to make a real impact.
  • Systems Pro: Master SAP, Business Objects, GCP, SQL and Tableau, alongside advanced Excel skills.
  • Communicator & Collaborator: Articulate complex financial data with ease and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Agile & Adaptable: Thrive in a fast-paced environment with your growth mindset and ability to simplify the complex.
  • Efficiency and Accuracy: Demonstrates exceptional organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Problem Solver & Innovator: Demonstrate strong analytical skills and a passion for creative solutions.
