The Opportunity
The Senior Software Test Engineer role for Woolworths MarketPlus, is crucial for ensuring the quality of new and existing software solutions. This role will work closely with the development team to apply meticulous testing practices in an agile environment, helping to define and drive our automated testing practices to ensure efficient and consistent quality outcomes.
What you’ll do
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Develop comprehensive test execution strategies, including automated vs. manual and risk-based testing.
- Perform testing across all test cycles: Integration, Verification, Regression, and Validation.
- Create, contribute to, maintain and update Automation Suite.
- Propose and implement improvements in test approach and tooling.
- Raise and retest defects to ensure a smooth user experience.
Process & Documentation
- Create and review test plans and test cases.
- Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation to ensure project clarity.
- Assist with presentations, briefs, and workshops to share knowledge with users.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements within the test team to ensure efficiency and consistency.
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years of industry experience in a hands-on testing and automation role.
- Automation skills and experience are essential for this role.
- Proven experience in functional, integration, API, and cross-browser testing on web-based applications.
- Solid manual testing experience, with automation experience essential.
- Knowledge of technologies such as XML, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, JSON, and Postman.
- Experience with at least one automation testing tool like Playwright, Cucumber, WebDriverIO.
- An understanding of SQL and the ability to execute basic SQL queries for application verification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to share ideas and learn from others.
