What you’ll do 


  • Acting as Superintendent for the Automation contract, effectively managing the automation scope, contract, and commissioning processes for the Melbourne North Customer Fulfilment Centre
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders including Property Managers, DC Design, Business Project Managers, DC Operations and the automation supplier to ensure cost and time-efficient project delivery, facilitate early transition activities, and manage the handover to DC Operations, including training and defect management.
  • Supporting Business Project Managers with governance, presentations, and reporting.
  • Providing weekly status reports, updating the project schedule, and managing risks, issues, resources, and costs.
  • Conducting formal system tests for customer acceptance, in collaboration with the Automation Functionality, Operations, and Business Project teams.
  • Managing implementation and validation of variation works.
  • Developing, modifying, and executing additional test plans.
  • Ensuring compliance with the main automation contract for all key deliverables.
  • Coordinating on-site automation assurance activities and recommending testing process improvements.
  • Reporting on all Automation Assurance activities, including progress, dependencies, risks, issues, opportunities, financials, and resources.


What you’ll bring 


  • Warehouse Automation Expertise (essential): Proven experience in the delivery, commissioning, and testing of complex automated systems.
  • Direct contract management experience with major automation suppliers (e.g., Knapp, Dematic, Vanderlande, Swisslog etc.) and substantial experience in contract superintendence.
  • Project management experience leading the implementation of complex infrastructure or construction changes into an operating business, or establishing and commissioning from a brownfield site.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of large-scale warehousing/distribution facility development, integrating with DC Operations, Automation Equipment, Site Systems and Safety.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to focus on detail while maintaining a strategic big-picture understanding.
  • Strong understanding of on-site safety management.
  • Proven senior stakeholder management and business acumen.


This role will primarily be based on-site in Melbourne during installation, commissioning, and testing. Occasional weekend work and interstate travel may be required as projects evolve.
