What you’ll do
The Risk Partner role is a key business partner across technology, digital and data teams within Woolworths. The Risk Partner role will contribute to the delivery of the Group Risk strategy and ambition to guide teams to make risk-informed choices with confidence and help them focus on what matters most. 


They will do this through the business unit partnering mission to shape decisions to achieve commercial outcomes in line with risk appetite, leveraging Group tools and frameworks.


This role partners with the  Technology, Digital and Data Senior Leadership Teams to understand risks and opportunities and provide them with reliable risk insight to drive value generating decisions. It is the first point of contact for the business into the Group’s Risk platform.  

  • Partner with the Technology, Digital and Data  teams to identify the risks which are most important, assess whether we are operating within appetite, and define the key action plans to get within appetite

  • Build positive working relationships with key stakeholders and participate in the design and implementation of strategies to enhance risk-informed decision-making and promote a positive risk culture

  • Support the development, maintenance, and quality assurance of risk registers and monitor the implementation of controls and agreed treatment actions

  • Support management in identifying potential emerging risks and opportunities and develop strategies to address them

  • Influence prioritisation of activities through the BU’s Quarterly Delivery Cycle to help prioritise key actions that will move that BU’s material risks into appetite, or raise awareness that those actions have been deprioritised 


What you’ll bring

  • Understanding of risk management principles, frameworks, and methodologies and ability to apply risk management concepts to business contexts

  • Understanding of issue management and incident management, and ability to facilitate root cause analysis  

  • Understanding of technology, data and digital change processes and how risk is managed through the delivery lifecycle

  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment across Technology, Data and Privacy including the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act, Cybersecurity Act, Privacy Act, and Voluntary AI Safety Standard

  • Drive and passion to champion and implement change

  • Ability to simplify the complex problems and develop practical solutions
