About the Role 

This role is accountable for ensuring that our Own Brand products are delivered according to safe, ethical and legislative standards. The development, management, communication and training of policies and standards across all products is the core responsibility of this role. 

You will be a Technical expert in therapeutic, cosmetic and personal care and dangerous goods, and will be required to provide regulatory advice to the business, develop a regulatory strategy, and represent Woolworths on external technical standards committees. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Technical expert in health, beauty, household & environment regulations, claims, and safety standards To ensure policy and procedures for regulatory compliance, claims and product safety are developed, maintained and embedded 

  • Provide regulatory strategies, advice and support to the Woolworths supermarkets ecosystem Develop & execute plans for regulatory changes across the Woolworths supermarkets ecosystem Have your finger on the pulse on changes in regulation, category advancements and product recalls globally, and build a regulatory strategy on changes and emerging trends 

  • Work with internal partners of all levels within the business to ensure sound understanding of regulations  Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with our internal Technical, Own Brand, Legal, and Commercial teams Mentor junior team members on regulatory compliance 

  • Exceptional attention to details, with an ability to write in a clear, concise and simple manner 


About You 

We are looking for our next superstar with the following skills and experience: 

  • Graduate Degrees in Law and Pharmaceuticals 

  • 10+ years experience in regulatory (Pharmaceuticals & Formulated Non Foods) 

  • Demonstrated experience working with regulatory and industry bodies in the pharmaceuticals and formulated non food areas 

  • Strong retail experience 

  • Experience working with local and international regulators 

  • Thorough understanding of Woolworths Supplier Excellence program

  • Thorough understanding and/or formal training in product safety – with particular reference to health, beauty, household & environment pre-production to post production 

  • Proficient in Google, Microsoft Word & Excel Database applications 

  • Sound ethical understanding
