What you'll do

The Observability and Prevention Centre of Enablement (CoE) prevents digital disruptions by providing optimised observability platforms and reliable alerting systems for rapid issue detection and resolution.

As the Lead of the Observability and Prevention Centre of Enablement (CoE), your core purpose is to build and guide a high-performing team that actively safeguards the company's digital health. This is achieved through three key leadership pillars:

  • Setting a Clear Strategic Vision: You will define and articulate a compelling vision that connects technical work to critical business outcomes. This involves creating a forward-looking roadmap by translating stakeholder needs into a prioritised backlog, and consistently communicating this strategy to ensure alignment across the team, its peers, and leadership, thereby answering the crucial "why" behind their work.

  • Fostering a Culture of Proactive Excellence: You will cultivate an environment and team mindset fostered towards anticipating and preventing issues, not just reacting to them. This is achieved by championing a shift from reactive firefighting to proactive problem-hunting, instilling a deep sense of ownership for system stability in every team member, and encouraging a curious culture where engine

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Platform & Technology Management.

  • Strategic Vision & Roadmap Development.

  • Team Leadership & People Development in the capacity of Chapter Lead.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management.

  • Operational Excellence & Incident Response.

  • Continuous Improvement and Best Practices advocacy..


What you'll bring

  • 10+ years experience in a Service Delivery type role (Operations, Application Support, Infrastructure Services) ideally supported by tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or equivalent.

  • Experience leading cross functional engineering teams in a fast paced environment.

  • In-depth understanding and experience with ITIL framework (ITIL v3+) and ITSM best practices, specifically Change and Configuration Management as well as Continuous Improvement Planning (CIP).

  • Experience with APM, event intelligence and automation tools like Dynatrace Splunk PagerDuty.

  • A solid level of understanding of observability, alerting and alarming best practice.

  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with experience developing and instilling a culture of operational maturity.

  • Thorough knowledge of cloud infrastructure as an enterprise asset and integration across enterprise platforms (AWS, Azure & GCP).

  • Ability to stay calm in challenging circumstances and work through problems methodically.
