As the Lead Commercial Analyst within the Commercial Enablement Team you will provide commercial thought leadership and analytical expertise to influence strategic decision-making, support key commercial initiatives, and improve commercial performance across the commercial, product and replenishment Functions
The role will lead the development and application of commercial tools and frameworks, drive actionable insights into trading performance, and support cross-functional alignment on commercial priorities. Through active stakeholder engagement, you will ensure the successful embedding of commercial strategies and promote a culture of commercial excellence.
This role will suit a commercially minded analytics leader who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and can translate complex analysis into practical, high-impact business decisions.
- Lead commercial analytics initiatives, from formulating questions to delivering actionable insights that boost sales, margin, and category performance.
- Influence Merchandise teams to improve outcomes in areas like promotions, profit recovery, buying practices, supplier funding, and pricing.
- Partner with Commercial, Finance, and Strategy leaders to provide insights and challenge key trading levers (pricing, promotions, supplier funding).
- Design and maintain commercial models for margin optimisation, pricing strategy, promotional effectiveness, and lifecycle planning.
- Translate trading performance into clear, actionable insights and narratives for senior stakeholders.
What you’ll bring | Hei koha
- 5+ years work experience, minimum 3 years experiences in Commercial Analytics and Insights delivery, ideally within FMCG
- Strong commercial experience with expertise in pricing or promotions preferable
- Proven experiences in the ability to work with complicated datasets and present insights in a simple manner that drives
- business decisions
- Proven experiences in presenting insights and recommendation to stakeholders at different levels and leading difficult
- conversations
- Experience in working with data analytics tools eg: Excel, Google Sheet, SQL, Tableau, Bigquery.
