Join the team behind Woolworths MarketPlus (WMP), we are looking for passionate individuals to work on WMP, the innovative platform launched in October 2023. WMP is transforming our online offering by empowering third-party sellers to seamlessly list and manage products across our key marketplace businesses, including Big W, Woolworths Online  (Everyday Market), and Everyday Rewards Shop.


Our goal is to expand our product range, providing customers with an unparalleled "one-stop shop" experience for an extensive selection of exclusive online products.


What you’ll do


As the Head of Seller, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the strategy to grow and support third-party sellers across Woolworths MarketPlus’s retail-led marketplaces - BIG W Market (bigw.com.au), Everyday Market (woolworths.com.au), and Everyday Rewards Shop (via the Everyday Rewards app). You will lead a large, high-performing team across multiple functions, driving critical commercial outcomes by expanding our seller base, maximising their success, commercialising new revenue streams through retail media, and curating compelling promotional offers. 

This is a critical leadership role responsible for accelerating our seller partnerships, bringing on new selection, and ensuring a thriving marketplace with a highly data-driven and action oriented approach.  You will also: 


  • Bring the strategic roadmap to life and execute to significantly grow the seller base and expand product selection across all Woolworths MarketPlus marketplaces.
  • Measurable improvements in Gross Merchandise Value (GMV), Voice of Seller (VOS), fulfilment, conversion, and revenue generation from Retail Media.
  • Drive high-impact initiatives that optimise the entire seller journey, from efficient acquisition and seamless onboarding to sustained growth, effective promotional participation, and successful retail media adoption.
  • Lead a high-performing, goal-driven team of 25+ with strong commercial focus, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement across all seller-facing functions.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with sellers and marketplace partners, ensuring their voice influences product roadmap and operational improvements, and establishing strategic channel partnerships.
  • Lead seamless delivery of seller-led priorities across WMP functions and including external partners.



What you’ll bring


With a passion for improving seller tools, programs, and outcomes at scale, with a customer-centric (seller-centric) mindset and proven success in driving commercial outcomes including GMV growth, seller acquisition targets, and revenue generation (e.g., retail media).  You will also have: 

  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in marketplace or eCommerce operations, with a proven track record of leading and scaling seller-facing functions (acquisition, growth, merchandising, retail media).
  • Strong leadership experience with a track record of building, managing, and coaching large, high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams (20+ people) to deliver significant commercial outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of the end-to-end seller lifecycle in a marketplace environment, from prospecting and onboarding to account management, performance optimization, and monetisation.
  • Strategic thinker who uses deep data analysis and insights to influence and drive decision-making and long-term strategy.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships at all levels.
