The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of External Reporting, you will ensure that internal and external reporting is accurate, timely and in compliance with Group accounting policies, accounting standards and disclosure requirements.
The role also involves exposure to a variety of other ad-hoc projects including acquisitions, divestments, return on funds employed, capital expenditure and ad hoc technical accounting queries. As part of a supportive team, you will have the exposure to the Group Financial Controller, the Chief Financial Officer and other senior management that offers excellent opportunities for career development
What you’ll do
- Driving external and internal reporting requirements, including the preparation and review of quarterly, half-year and annual external market announcements
- Preparing of technical accounting papers for the Audit and Finance Committee to support key accounting positions and judgements taken by the Group in respect of the financial results
- Providing ad hoc technical guidance to the Group and maintain Group accounting policies to ensure ongoing compliance with Australian Accounting Standards across all operating Business Units
- Assisting with the preparation and review of financial analysis packs for senior management supporting external market announcements and other special reporting for senior management or board as requested
- Collaborating with key stakeholders including Business Unit finance teams, Financial Control, and other Corporate teams (e.g. Group Planning, Treasury and Tax)
What you’ll bring
- CA/CPA qualified with extensive external and internal reporting experience, ideally within a Big 4 accounting firm,
- FMCG/ retail company or large ASX listed business
- Proven ability in building strong relationships with stakeholders and exert influence to deliver on commitments
- Experienced manager with strong ability to manage a small team (of four) and to work as part of a larger team
- Experience in supporting various financial systems (SAP & BPC) desirable and advanced Excel Skills required
