What you’ll do
As a key member of the Data Architecture team, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Develop solutions, data architectures & designs for Inbound & outbound Data Integration, Data Lake, Business Intelligence, Reporting and analytics solutions
- Develop conceptual, logical and physical data models across structured, semi-structured and unstructured datasets using standard data modelling techniques.
- Make design decisions that ensure effective, secure, scalable, convergent, flexible and manageable solutions of high standards
- Applying data analysis and data modelling techniques, based upon a detailed understanding of the group information requirements, to establish, modify or maintain data structures and their associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, attribute definitions). Providing advice and guidance to data engineers/ designers and others using the data structures and associated components.
- Work with the business, to model the information required to support the organisation or project ambition, and devise data structures and architectures to support these. Communicate the resultant models and architectures to management.
- Ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures and overall data/ information management and analytics strategy.
- Stakeholder management, ability to collaborate
What you’ll bring
We are looking for an experienced Data Architect with proven stakeholder management skills; with the ability to build, maintain and utilise networks and relationships within Woolworths Group Limited and across external stakeholders (i.e. industry, government, other supplier bodies) and an ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders to achieve effective architecture outcomes and to produce effective strategies and solutions.
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Mathematics/Engineering
- Strong experience in designing BI & Reporting solutions & technologies
- Strong experience in microservices and integration architectures.
- Strong Architecture experience in designing solutions leveraging PaaS and SaaS cloud capabilities (GCP/Azure/AWS)
- Designing and implementing highly available and scalable solutions in an on-prem, hybrid & multi-cloud environment
- Data modelling using Data Vault 2.0 and other data warehouse modelling tools like Kimball
- Experience using ERWIN/any other modelling tools.
- Exposure to Data Engineering, CI/CD process & design
- Understand established data management principles & technologies
- Experience in Agile / Scrum methods and approaches
- Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills
- Excellent business writing and verbal communication skills to establish and develop effective client relationships
- Works well with Enterprise Architecture, Design and Analysis, Service Delivery and Project teams
- Shows resilience, pursuing challenging situations with drive so as to achieve specific goals
