What you’ll do
Asst Category Manager - Own Brand, Baby & Nursery brings the BIG W Strategy to life by delivering the Category Strategy to create the best range and create value for our customers to maximise sales, profit and customer satisfaction. A key part of this role will be to deliver product innovation and new own brand ranges which meet customer needs where we want to accelerate our pipeline of product in a meaningful way. This role also delivers on partnering with new and existing partners, unlocking new product and partnership opportunities to transform the BIGW business.
Lead the end-to-end development of products within our own brand range, with a focus on innovation and creation.
Desire to see your product range come to life using expert product development knowledge, supplier negotiation skills, customer insights and of course, your creativity!
Delivering key product and innovation pipelines by partnering with the design team, BWA, QA, and supplier partners
Identifying market gaps and bringing products to market in an accelerated timeline
Partnering within the Commercial team to build the own brand category strategy across Baby & Nursery, using customer insights and market data to support the BIG W Strategy
Making clear recommendations and gaining buy-in from relevant teams
Working with BWA, the design team, and suppliers to deliver the best product at the best unit price, supporting both business goals and 2025 sustainability targets
Curating ranges and refining pricing in line with the category strategy, using customer and market insights to ensure alignment with BIG W strategies
Partnering with suppliers to build strong relationships and optimise the supplier portfolio to increase sales, profit, and customer advocacy
What you’ll bring
Previous experience as a commercial retail buyer.
Successfully trading a sizeable category in terms of $ and options.
Strong partnering and influencing skills with proven experience of building strong relationships to deliver a point of difference.
Proven experience working towards KIPs
