This role is based in our Norwest Sydney office.
What you’ll do
- Identifying and developing ranges
- Competitive Price in the market
- Sourcing products
- Negotiating with suppliers
- Developing successful category plans
- Determining both local and overseas product trends and converting these into sales
- Ensuring all products meet legal and statutory obligations
- Designing promotional programs to maximise sales
What you’ll bring
- Proven buying experience at a Category Manager level, in a large supermarket/ FMCG environment or have been identified as a high performing
- Assistant Category Manager ready for their first Category Management appointment
- Success in developing and executing a clear customer focused Category Plan that is aligned to the overarching divisional strategy and based on sound commercial insights / data
- A strong background and demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence with cross functional and external stakeholders at all levels across the business
- The ability to become an industry expert in the field of responsibility within Australia
- A passion for product and product development and at the forefront of innovation and continuous improvement
- A reputation as an outstanding leader, influencer and deliverer of exceptional results
- Ability to coach and develop a high performing category team and develop a culture where the customer is the focus and at the centre of all decisions made.
