The Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager  - Strategic Delivery & Project Capabilities, you'll act as a leader for the company's project management community which includes over 500 professionals. You'll work closely with senior leaders across various business units to improve how projects are managed company wide focusing on connection, capability, consistency and controls. You'll also be responsible for evolving the community's strategy, creating and managing key work streams and leading large scale, end to end programs across the entire group as needed


What you’ll do:

  • Lead the Project Community: Drive the strategy for over 500 project professionals across the company to improve how everyone works together.
  • Strengthen Connections: Organize events, newsletters and communication through different channels to help project teams connect and share knowledge.
  • Improve Capabilities: Develop and execute a strategy to improve the skills and expertise of all project managers.
  • Ensure Consistency: Implement and embed standard tools, frameworks and processes for project management across the entire Group.
  • Evolve the Strategy: Continuously review and update the project community's strategy based on feedback from the teams.
  • Lead Major Programs: Take charge of and run large, end-to-end Group projects and programs as needed.


What you’ll bring:

  • Well honed project management skills in a highly complex and matrixed environment with lived in experience of having managed a number of complex group wide programs or initiatives throughout the end to end project lifecycle
  • Deep experience on how aspects of Program or Project delivery work such as managing end to end change activities and deliverables within a project or building a business case from scratch with business stakeholders  through to benefits realisation approach and methodology.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to navigate a broad range of inputs and adjust delivery dependent on the audience.
  • Passion for the Profession - You will be genuinely passionate about project management and helping others grow in the field leading the Project Management Community of Practice through connection, capability, consistency and controls.
  • Line leader experience - led cross functional teams include line management of team members.
