What you’ll do
As a Senior Product Designer at Woolworths, you will be a key contributor to the future of our digital experiences. This role involves close collaboration with design managers, as well as business, engineering, and product stakeholders, to thoroughly understand all requirements and objectives. You will leverage your expertise in systems thinking, communication, and strategy to inform and advise on solutions.
You will be responsible to:
- Lead user research and apply insights to design decisions.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Create and maintain foundational design system components for visual and functional consistency.
- Design intuitive and engaging user interactions, including micro-interactions and animations.
- Ensure all designs meet WCAG accessibility standards.
- Improve design tooling, handoff processes, and documentation to increase team velocity and design quality.
What you’ll bring
Specifically, this role focuses on our CORE design system. This includes the creation, governance, and evolution of a comprehensive set of reusable design elements, patterns, and guidelines for our primary group banners. Your ability to translate diverse user, business, and technical requirements into intuitive and engaging experiences will significantly impact how our customers interact with digital touchpoints across the Woolworths Group.
Also, you’ll bring in:
- Bachelor's degree in Design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing design process and problem-solving skills, preferably with design system support.
- Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in design tools like Figma, with experience building and maintaining design systems.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with a passion for exceptional user experiences.
