What you'll do 

As a SOC Analyst at Woolworths Group, you will be a part of a growing team of experts tasked with defending our iconic brands from cyber threats. Each team member is responsible for the full range of activities in the threat detection and incident response process. You will be using security tools to monitor and respond to attacks against the Woolworths Group.  

As the Security Analyst you will:

  • Respond to and resolve security related requests, alerts, and incidents within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
  • Conduct, participate, and provide suggestions for improvement opportunities in post incident reviews.
  • Develop and maintain security detections using agile methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain security related documentation.
  • Participate in security drill exercises.
  • Drive automation efficiencies.


What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you will have developed analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ideally, you will demonstrate a strong understanding of the following key areas:   

  • Tertiary qualifications at degree level in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent industry relevant experience.
  • Exposure to common security tools with SPLUNK or Google Secops (highly regarded) 
  • Experience in managing significant security incidents.
  • Working knowledge of the kill chain methodology.
  • Experience in the various stages of Incident Response.
  • Strong understanding of information security.
  • Strong understanding of networking and protocols.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with an ability to manage multiple stakeholders during incidents.
  • Appropriate current or recent qualifications from SANS, ITIL, and Vendor certifications.
