Be nothing but yourself in a culture that is inclusive and innovative. Work as part of an ambitious, smart and passionate team and belong to something meaningful as part of the Woolworths Group

What you'll do

In this role you’ll be a senior strategic leader responsible for the operational and financial engine of the technology department. Your purpose is to ensure the entire technology portfolio is delivered efficiently, predictably, and with full financial transparency.

This role acts as a strategic partner to the Platform Leaders, providing them with a consistent delivery framework, portfolio-level risk management, and robust financial governance. This leader enables the platform teams to focus on delivering high-quality business outcomes by providing a "centre of excellence" for how we plan, execute, and track our work.

  • Delivery Framework & Governance: Establish and govern a delivery framework for program management, risk/dependency management, and reporting across the portfolio of build and run activities enabling platform teams to execute efficiently and transparently.

  • Portfolio Management & De-risking: Provide a holistic, portfolio-level view of all in-flight work. Accountable for identifying, managing, and mitigating the cross-program dependencies, resource contentions, and portfolio-level risks that sit between the platform verticals.

  • Technology Financial Management: Lead the annual and quarterly planning cycles, managing the portfolio budget (capex and opex), and provide accurate forecasting and reporting to finance and the leadership team.

  • Strategic Planning Cadence: Lead the operational rhythm and strategic planning cadence for the entire technology department. Ensure a unified roadmap and investment plan are created and maintained, and that all initiatives clearly align with our strategic priorities.

  • Program Management Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of Program Managers. Embed this team within the platform verticals to directly support the Platform Leaders and ensure consistent delivery excellence.

  • Group Collaboration & Alignment: Ensure our portfolio reporting, financial governance, and strategic planning are aligned with broader group standards and requirements.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in a senior program leadership role (e.g., Head of PMO, Head of Delivery, Head of Tech BizOps) managing complex, multi-million dollar technology portfolios.

  • Demonstrable experience establishing and scaling modern delivery frameworks (Agile, etc.) in a fast-paced, product-led technology organisation.

  • Extensive experience in technology financial management, including annual planning, budget tracking (capex/opex), and building investment cases.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills, with a proven ability to partner with and support senior leaders in a matrix environment.

  • A strong strategic and commercial mindset, with the ability to connect delivery execution to overarching business value and strategic objectives.

  • Expert-level knowledge of program and portfolio management (PPM) methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, PPM software).

  • Strong understanding of product development lifecycles, Agile principles, and the realities of modern software and data delivery.

  • Excellent financial acumen and advanced data analysis/modelling skills.

  • A high-level understanding of cloud technologies, data platforms, and digital products is highly desirable to effectively partner with technology leaders.

What You’ll Experience

  • We embrace diversity of thought and love to take on challenges with a pragmatic and innovative approach. Our culture thrives on mutual respect, care, curiosity, openness, and a proactive attitude. We continually seek ways to pair, collaborate, support, and learn from each other as a team!

  • Team discounts across our range of Woolworths Group brands you know and love and a robust rewards program that celebrates and incentivises purpose-driven work.

  • A global business with endless career possibilities around every corner and across every discipline – with valuable exposure to a vast and exciting business network.
