The Opportunity
Woolworths Finance is in Year 2 of a monumental transformation and we are seeking a visionary and results driven leader to drive this change through technology. This critical role is the central engine for enabling long term success, taking ownership of our Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Analytics and Intelligent Automation strategy across the entire Finance function. You will not only set the vision and roadmap but also lead a high impact team of specialists, partner directly with the Group CFO and Executive Finance team and architect the capabilities necessary to reimagine everything we do - ultimately driving operational efficiency and enabling superior, data driven decision making across the Woolworths Group.
What you’ll do
- Own the Strategic Vision: Develop, champion and translate the strategic roadmap for AI, Advanced Analytics and Intelligent Automation into a tangible high value delivery plan aligned with the Group's Finance transformation goals.
- Lead a High Performing Team & Ecosystem: Inspire and manage a team of 15 specialists (direct and indirect), while forging critical partnerships with senior stakeholders (up to the Group CFO) and internal tech partners (Wiq, Quantium) to ensure seamless solution delivery.
- Drive End to End Solutions: Oversee the entire lifecycle of intelligent solutions from ideation and business case development to deployment, value realisation and continuous governance within Finance.
- Accelerate Capability & Adoption: Act as the central thought leader to proactively increase AI, Automation and Data Science capability across the Finance function, driving culture change and the widespread adoption of new tools and practices.
- Act as a Senior Business Advisor: Serve as an expert consultant to Finance leaders, leveraging advanced data modelling and technologies to provide clear, data driven recommendations that guide critical business and financial decisions.
What you’ll bring
- Executive Stakeholder Management & Influence: Exceptional proven experience in negotiating, influencing and aligning senior leaders toward a common technical vision and transformation goal.
- Strategic Change & Adoption Leadership: Demonstrated success in driving and delivering complex change initiatives and successfully championing the adoption of new tools, technologies (AI, Analytics, Automation) and new ways of working across diverse and cross functional teams.
- Hands On Technical Program Leadership: Strong, practical experience in end to end project or program management with a proven ability to architect, govern and deliver a portfolio of intelligent solutions from ideation through to value realization.
- Team Leadership & Coaching: A natural ability to lead, coach and inspire highperforming, multidisciplinary teams, specifically experience leading specialists in the Intelligent Automation, Advanced Analytics or Data Science domains.
- Deep Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the proven ability to translate large, complex datasets into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for the business.
- Financial Context Preferred: While not mandatory, a Finance qualification (CA, CPA) or significant experience working closely within the Finance function is highly advantageous to understand the operational context.
What you’ll experience
- A progressive and flexible ‘Work from Anywhere’ policy that gives you more control over your work, life and wellbeing.
- A global business with endless career possibilities around every corner and across every discipline – with valuable exposure to a vast and exciting business network.
- Team discounts across our range of Woolworths Group brands you know and love and a robust rewards program that celebrates and incentivises purpose-driven work.
- 12 weeks paid parental leave for primary caregivers plus paid superannuation for up to 12 months while the Team Member is on parental leave - eligible from the first day of employment
