What you’ll do

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our fast-paced Shopping Intelligence team. This is a unique hybrid role where you will not only perform senior-level business analysis but also take on the responsibilities of a Product Owner for the squad.

Your mission is to translate complex customer problems and business opportunities into a strategic, actionable backlog. You will be instrumental in defining and delivering the next generation of smart, data-driven shopping features, with a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge, AI-powered capabilities

As a Senior BA with a Product Owner hat, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of an initiative, from strategic alignment to technical delivery.

Product Ownership & Strategy:

  • Strategic Backlog Management: Lead the build, formulation, and strategic prioritization of the squad backlog, ensuring all initiatives align directly with the product strategy and tribe missions.

  • Vision & Outcome Alignment: Champion the product vision within the squad. Ensure all collaborative decisions and prioritized work deliver the maximum targeted outcome for the customer and the business.

  • Prioritization: Manage a complex and fast-paced workload, balancing competing deadlines and making clear, data-informed decisions on what the team should focus on.

  • Facilitation: Be able to facilitate and lead core agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and stand-ups. Be able to manage conflict within a team.

Business Analysis & Delivery:

  • Requirements Definition: Distil complex requirements into high-quality, testable Epics and User Stories, complete with clear personas and acceptance criteria (both functional and non-functional).

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate workshops and collaborate closely with key stakeholders (business, data science, design, and engineering) to find the right solutions for our most valuable customer problems.

  • Technical Deep Dives: Comfortably "get into the technical nitty-gritty" with the engineering team to break down bugs, define solutions, and formulate detailed user stories for integration-based features (APIs, Web Services).

  • Data-Driven Insights: Be proficient in extracting and analysing data (e.g., using SQL) to derive actionable insights, validate hypotheses, and inform backlog prioritization.

What you’ll bring 

  • Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst in a fast-paced, Agile e-commerce or digital environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in product backlog management, prioritization, and linking work to a broader product strategy (experience acting as a Product Owner is a major plus).

  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple complex initiatives with competing deadlines.

  • Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.

  • Deep understanding of integration patterns (APIs, Web Services) and the ability to write technically detailed user stories.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and deriving insights .

  • A collaborative, problem-solving mindset with a willingness to support the squad in all aspects of delivery.

  • Experience working on mobile app development on both iOS and Android, including integration with backend systems.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Direct experience working on AI-powered features, such as personalization, recommendation engines, intelligent search, or other machine-learning-driven products.

  • Background in retail, e-commerce, or "Shopping Intelligence" domains.
