We are Woolworths Group

We are Woolworths Group. 200,000+ bright minds, passionate hearts, and unique perspectives across Australia and New Zealand. Connected by a shared Purpose - 'to create better experiences together for a better tomorrow'. That Purpose fuels our ambition to explore new ideas, make brave commitments, and innovate better ways to meet the food and everyday needs of more than 24 million customers every week.

If you're excited to turn today's blue-sky thinking into a better tomorrow for future generations, you'll find yourself supported and enriched in a dynamic, inclusive, and empowering workplace. With a culture of genuine care, a flexible approach to work, and opportunities across the group to grow your career and make a meaningful impact, the possibilities for what we can achieve together are endless.

What you’ll do

You'll provide expert brand and marketing strategy, architecture, and positioning expertise for the entire Woolworths Group ecosystem. The goal is to drive healthy growth for new and existing propositions, businesses, and core Group brands. A key focus will be to shape the evolution of the Woolworths Supermarket brand in line with its three-year brand strategy.

You'll also ensure that the brand and marketing strategy supports the increasing interconnectivity of all our brands within the Group and helps build solutions based on business context, customer needs, and brand opportunities

As part of the Brand Strategy Chapter and COE, within CustomerX, you'll be a key partner to the Woolworths Marketing Tribe and the wider business. You will provide strategic brand support and risk assessments for campaign execution, with a particular focus on the application of brand architecture and its risks, trademarking considerations, and the integration of key brand proof points across the customer journey.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Translate customer research into actionable insights and KPIs, acting as a customer champion to drive business actions that achieve brand outcomes.
  • Champion and embed the brand framework and architecture across the Group, using established marketing science models to simplify complexity and influence stakeholder adoption.
  • Generate and integrate brand propositions and proof points across the entire Group ecosystem, tracking the performance of core brand pillars to drive optimisation and growth.
  • Develop clear marketing and brand communications strategies that connect business strategy to simple marketing opportunities and communications plans, including supporting the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and best-practice customer journey mapping.
  • Ensure brand-aligned activity and drive strategic transformation by partnering with various internal practices, chapters, business units (like Legal and CustomerX), and external partners.

What you’ll bring

  • 7 years of experience in brand and marketing strategy within a corporate environment.
  • Strong experience applying customer data and insights to build actionable outcomes, with particular knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies (Ideally customer insights background).
  • Expert ability to distill complexity into clear, logical, and actionable frameworks.
  • A sound understanding of the grocery retail landscape.
  • Stakeholder relations and negotiation techniques
  • Experience in using genAI to do research and for strategic decision making

What you’ll experience

  • A global business with endless career possibilities around every corner and across every discipline – with valuable exposure to a vast and exciting business network.
  • Access to Sonder.  Sonder provides free confidential 24/7 personalised financial, medical safety, psychological or physical support for team members and their families.
  • A progressive and competitive leave policy that gives you more space for what matters to you.
  • Team discounts across our range of Woolworths Group brands you know and love and a robust rewards program that celebrates and incentivises purpose-driven work.
  • Opportunity to Salary Sacrifice, enabling team members to purchase selected eligible items or services from pre-tax salary.  Can be used for novated leases, superannuation contributions, Qantas Club membership, computing devices etc.
