An exciting People Lead opportunity has become available, a key leadership role within our team you’ll be making the decision to join our Woolworths New Zealand People leadership team reporting to our Director of People.


About the Role |  Mō te Tūranga 


Key to this role will be your depth in transformation and strategic HR expertise, ability to amplify and embed organisational purpose, a track record of creating the best employee experiences possible 


  • Senior leadership role with accountabilities to deliver key people outcomes for our business

  • Execute our people strategy to drive against the business strategy

  • Translate ways of working and values into actionable outcomes that drive growth

  • Leverage people data and insights to shape and deliver to the objectives of the people strategy

  • Provide active coaching and support to our leaders

  • Anticipate and identify opportunities to increase team engagement and build brand advocacy

  • Influence and work with a broad array of functional areas within the people community to drive and deliver outcomes to support business priorities

  • Participate in agile practices, chapters and tribes to build our agile capability

  • Support and drive the AI agenda across the business, looking at opportunities to improve process and partnering with leaders to redesign work 

 

About You | Mōu 

 

You’re a seasoned people practitioner operating at the Senior People Partner level with deep expertise in strategic partnering with executive leadership teams.  You are looking to broaden your skills and grow your career whilst continuing to build your profile and make a difference.

 

You’ll have true generalist experience across all areas of Human Resources with insight to global best practices. You’re able to translate a people strategy into operational plans, as well as lead cultural transformation in an environment with a high degree of ambiguity. You have a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale change programs, including the integration of new teams.


Deeply passionate about teams you understand the impact you can make and the role you play in connecting teams to purpose for better outcomes.  You’re known as an inspirational and effective leader who creates team advocacy, builds trust and empowers teams to perform at their best.  

 

Critical to success in this role is the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the organisation that create opportunities for sharing and collaboration through agile delivery.

 

Your ideal experience:

 

  • 10+ years People (HR) leadership experience within large enterprise organisations

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with proven ability to lead and deliver transformational change

  • Previous experience in FMCG, retail, manufacturing or supply chain is highly advantageous

  • Proven ability to translate People Strategy into operational plans

  • Experience leading cultural transformation

  • Highly developed coaching capability

  • True generalist experience across all areas of human resources 

  • A background working within an agile environment is highly desirable

  • Experience managing and embedding large scale change
