The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Lease Manager to join the Woolworths Property team. You will play a role in ensuring accuracy of lease and financial data in the company wide Lease Management system and be a custodian of all occupancy payments. You will also assist other areas of Woolworths in regards to lease interpretation.
What you’ll do
- Lease Data Management: Ensures accuracy and integrity of lease and financial data within the PEPS+ system, including maintaining property master data.
- Occupancy Cost Control: Manages and reviews outgoings and occupancy cost charges from landlords, seeking savings and ensuring compliance with lease agreements.
- Lease Payment Processing: Reviews and approves lease occupancy payments, including automated fixed and CPI reviews, in accordance with lease terms.
- Lease Interpretation and Support: Provides expert lease interpretation and support to internal stakeholders (Property Management, Legal, EMS).
- System and Process Improvement: Continuously improves lease management systems and processes for greater efficiency.
- Stakeholder Communication: Shares critical lease-related information with external stakeholders, such as landlords.
What you’ll bring
- Retail Lease Expertise: 5+ years managing retail property leases.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Financial Analysis: Strong analytical skills, especially in reviewing property outgoings.
- Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated success in achieving favorable outcomes.
- Lease Management Systems: Experience with systems like PEPS+, including outgoings and budgeting.
- Property & Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of retail lease structures, occupancy cost accounting (IFRS 16).
