What you'll do
As our Health and Safety Specialist, you will support the delivery of key Group Safety and Material Risk initiatives across Woolworths Group. You will contribute to the effective risk management of Woolworths diverse delivery partners, including contractors, suppliers and other third parties. You will also leverage your health and safety knowledge and experience to support Woolworths across, material risk management and safety management systems.
Key Responsibilities include:
Support the deployment and continuous improvement of the Contractor Safety Risk Management (CSRM) framework across the Group.
Provide expert guidance on the application of the contractor safety framework and third-party risk management.
Analyze safety data, prepare reports, and provide insights on performance and risk profiles to support decision-making.
Offer generalist health & safety advice and support, covering management systems, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
Foster collaborative stakeholder engagement to drive safety outcomes and align with industry best practice.
What you'll bring
A key focus in the role is demonstrating technical expertise in Australian WHS legislation, risk assessment, and contractor management, alongside hands-on experience developing and implementing safety management systems to drive safety performance. Success hinges on exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, which will be used to negotiate, influence, and provide data-driven, actionable insights to diverse business partners. With your proven ability to simplify processes and documentation to be operationally fit for purpose, and to apply a pragmatic approach to understand how work is actually done, designing controls that are simple, intuitive, and effective for teams and partners.
Minimum of 6 years of relevant WH&S experience and tertiary WHS qualifications.
Demonstrated ability to challenge traditional safety paradigms, driving innovative and systemic solutions that consistently achieve positive operational and safety outcomes by approaching challenges differently.
Exposure to contractors and suppliers safety frameworks and systems, including digital safety applications.
Comfort leading comprehensive risk assessments for operations and perform root-cause incident investigations.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to influence stakeholders across all levels.
Able to interpret complex safety data to provide actionable insights and contribute to the development of compliant, integrated safety management systems.
