The Opportunity

 

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Business Analyst to join Greenstock (W-Retail) Woolworths’s end-to-end multi-channel red meat business. This role will see you delivering accurate and insightful financial forecasting, reporting and analysis to support business partners in delivering financial performance targets in the area of meat sourcing and primary processing, including sustainability and animal welfare initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager. 


What you’ll do


Performance Reporting and Analysis

  • Drive P&L reporting of Sourcing and Primary Processing financial results, including tracking productivity initiatives with insights into performance drivers. 
  • Develop variance analysis to explain movements against budget and forecast, and clearly communicate drivers of results to business partners.

Forecasting and Planning

  • Deliver corporate forecast submissions paired with robust analysis behind key assumptions to drive forecasting accuracy. 
  • Actively monitor forecasting performance to identify risks and opportunities, and support the delivery of annual budgets, including quarterly standard cost updates.

Business Partnering & Decision Support

  • Partner with meat sourcing and processing stakeholders, bringing financial insights and analysis to raw material buying and processing performance. 
  • Empower business partners to make informed commercial decisions through insights into the performance of key meat commodities, including price trends and market indicators.


What you’ll bring

 

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong commercial focus with proven experience in insights delivery and driving improvement. You are naturally curious and enjoy building relationships with the wider business and customers equally. As well as the following skills and experience:


  • Finance related degree and, working toward or willingness to undertake a, Professional Qualification (CPA/CA or equivalent)
  • 2+ years experience with financial accounting/reporting background with analytical experience
  • Prior experience of multi-functional team and / or experience in the retail or FMCG sectors desirable 
  • Strong modelling and analytical skills with Excel / Google sheets, Google Cloud (Big Query SQL), and SAP desirable.
  • Strong presentation and problem framing skills is desirable
  • Strong commercial sense and high levels of attention to detail
